Usability is vital to any e-commerce website. In designing an e-commerce website you wil need to evaluate the usability of any design. Any successful usability study will need to contain the following:

Comparative performance - quantitative comparison of your site to competitors on task efficiency, effectiveness and navigation issues.

Comparative satisfaction - similar comparison to above but more concerned with look and feel, perceived customer value and overall customer experience instead.

Construct a list of strengths and weaknesses of the site's usability and from that a prioritised list of proposals for design improvements can be made.
