What design is best for me?

Juicy offer a variety of design styles for websites. The decision on who the final design is to be aimed at and how that is going to be achieved is always crucial.

Our clients consistently have differing needs and varying levels of understanding of what they require and how this should technically be achieved. We happily offer advice on this whenever it is sought.

Initially we will present all the available design styles and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each. We will also consider the styles chosen by firms dircetly competing in the market place with the client involved. This is often an excellent way of helping a client to brainstorm their own feelings and target areas where they are unsure of technical issues.

When selecting a design the following issues must be considered:

Is the marketplace in which the client exists highly corporate such as a lawyer, or something more general, requiring a typical business style.

How much content is there going to be on the website? And how regularly is it going to be updated? This will affect how much room is necessary for page content as well as how much flash animation is used - fully animated sites are not able to handle large amounts of content as well as static, HTML sites. They are also slightly harder to update.

Which colours would be appropriate? This will depend on the client involved, existing corporate identities/logos that we will normally match the site to & the types of colurs used by competitors, e.g. bright and warm. We generally select two main colours to be used throughout the site plus further ones for text formatting purposes and links.

Which fonts are to be used? As with colours, where existing logo and advertising materials exist we will try to match fonts. Where there is not possible we will pick something appropriate generally Helvetica, Arial or Verdana.

We may also use two fonts, one for main content and one for logo, menu items, but we normally try to stick to one for consistency sake.
